SPORTS DAY

Sports Day at Hawthorne Elementary School is on Friday, June 3rd and we hope that you can join us for the fun. Students are invited to decorate bikes, trikes, wagons, skateboards, scooters, or other wheeled conveyances to participate in the Wheels Parade which will start at 9:25 a.m.  The Ocean Adventures theme consists of four colours GREEN (Octopus), Yellow (Nemos), Blue (Narwhals) and Red (Pirates).  Students are invited to dress up according to their team’s theme however please keep in mind that students will be very active throughout the day.  A schedule will be sent home to parents early next week but please note that we typically dismiss students at around 2:15pm.  Parents are reminded to refrain from smoking on the school grounds while watching Sports Day events and we request that you please leave your dogs at home.

In case of poor weather, Sports Day will be held on Monday, June 6th.  Postponement of Sports Day, if necessary, will be announced on CKNW 980 and in an email sent to families.  Students’ Sports Day food orders will be served on Friday, June 3rd even if Sports Day is postponed; however, we hope to have the concession stand open on the Monday.
